The SLICE II Study – Sex-based differences in the immunobiology and natural history of acute and convalescent Lyme disease
Purpose of Study: This observational study is being done to understand why people may respond differently to routine antibiotic treatment for Lyme disease and to gather biospecimens to determine differences between those that recover from early Lyme disease and those with Post-Treatment Lyme Disease Syndrome. This study is also being done to understand features of Lyme disease and specifically how it differs between men and women. www.slicestudies.org.
- Men and women ages 18 years or older with a visible rash of early Lyme disease, and none or less than 72 hours of antibiotic treatment for early Lyme disease.
- Men and women ages 18 years or older with no prior history of Lyme disease in overall good health.
