John Miller, MDAssistant Professor of Medicine
- M.D.: Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, Richmond VA
- Internship and residency: Johns Hopkins Hospital
- Post-doctoral fellowship: Johns Hopkins Hospital
Dr. Miller is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Rheumatology. He received his medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. He then completed his Internal Medicine residency training and Rheumatology fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. He is an active clinician in both the Consultative Rheumatology and Arthritis Centers.
He recognizes that rheumatoid arthritis is a heterogeneous disease and is interested in identification of subgroups of patients with seronegative rheumatoid arthritis. These patients do not have the traditional autoantibody markers, such as rheumatoid factor or citrullinated peptide antibodies. Characterization of these subgroups will allow further evaluation of mechanisms important for disease initiation and response to treatment.
Dr. Miller is training in the use of musculoskeletal ultrasound and plans to use these skills to improve detection of subtle inflammation, monitor response to therapy, and evaluate differences in subgroups of patients with inflammatory arthritis.
